The year in consumer tech has started with a bang at CES 2018. At the event, Acer has made an impressive impact with its three updated launches. The most notable among them is Acer Swift 7, which is thinner than its previous iteration.
CES 2018 will open its doors this week but the new Swift 7 from Acer is already causing a stir in Las Vegas.This all-new laptop has just been unveiled ahead of this week’s major technology show and it claims to be the world’s thinnest portable PC.The Windows 10 powered machine measures in at just 8.98mm thick – to compare, the Apple Macbook Air is 17mm thick.”We’re extremely proud to make the world’s thinnest laptop even thinner with the new Swift 7,” said Jerry Kao, President of IT Products Business of Acer Inc. “Building on the engineering break- throughs from the previous generation, the new Swift 7 steps up the game with an even slimmer chassis, powerful performance and always-on 4G LTE connectivity for professionals on the go.”
In case you’re worried about the performance and power of this thin laptop, keep those worries aside. Acer Swift 7 is powered by an Intel 7th Gen Core i7 processor. It’s a Windows 10 always-connected PC with all-day battery life and 4G LTE connectivity.
Apart from a Nano SIM card slot, Swift 7 has the eSIM technology, which allows one to download/activate eSIm profiles. The other connectivity option available is 802.11ac wireless with 2×2 MIMO.
You also get 256 GB of PCIe SSD storage and 8GB of LPDDR3 memory for fast and responsive performance. For better security, this unibody aluminum chassis machine has a fingerprint reader and Windows Hello support.
The laptop starts at $1,699 and it’s expected to be available from March.
